The 64 Bed Facility is Stage One of a two-stage 120 Bed Aged Care Facility for Mercy Health. It will provide a more efficient model comprising of a High Care, Dementia and ESS wing.
The Facility is single storey and is built around large open-plan courtyards. A central administration building provides the hub of the Facility. Stage One of this project was completed in 2009.
MERCY PLACE WYNDHAM AGED CARE FACILITY
70-bed Extension to Existing Aged Care Facility
Werribee
Mercy Place Wyndham is a 70-Bed extension to existing Aged Care Facility providing a total of 108 beds in the Werribee area.
Stage One 70 bed facility was completed in 2009.
The extension is single storey and is built around series of open-plan courtyards. This is divided into a secure Dementia wing and adjoining High-Care. Both are integrated into the existing building which is currently being re-modelled to bring it up to current Regulations and Standards.
The design ethos has emanated from the original Art Deco residence which had been altered over time to become the Villa Franca Nursing Home. These period elements have been incorporated into the design to attain a contextual response in its residential environment.
ARCADIA ALU&ACF
33 Assisted Living Units & 103 Aged Care Facility
North Essendon
Arcadia Aged Care complex is located on Keilor Road in Essendon. It is the latest in contemporary aged care design. Comprising of 33 assisted living units with a 103 bed Aged Care Facility, it will be a multi-purpose facility serving the local community.
The building was completed in September 2005. The facility will be owned and managed by Churches of Christ Community Care.
FOOTSCRAY AGED CARE FACILITY
88-Bed Aged Care Facility
Footscray
This 88 Bed Facility designed for Doutta Galla Aged Services is located on a unique historical site in Footscray and was completed in 2008. The facility features contemporary design with four glazed internal courtyards, directly accessed from residents rooms, greatly enhancing the residents' amenity. The plan layout offers views from all corridors to the central activities area, easing navigation for residents throughout the facility.
FOOTSCRAY ASSISTED LIVING UNIT
In conjunction with the 88 bed Aged Care Facility Doutta Galla Aged Services are providing 19 Independent Living Units over four levels. The ILUs offer a contemporary lifestyle nestled into the existing Heritage site. They will utilise the restored RSL Mansion for Community Facilites.
AVONDALE HEIGHTS AGED CARE FACILITY
84-Bed Aged Care Facility

The Facility was originally intended to be an Interim Care model that had been specifically developed in Victoria, to operate in cooperation witht he inner and western Melbourne metropolitan hospitals to provide the elderly with a residentially based rehabilitation environment. It has since reverted to providing aged care services to the Northern suburbs communities. The building was designed to provide for a third stage.

This 24 bed ESS wing responds to Commonwealth changes in legislation and provides residents a superior level of comfort and choice, through: The physical environment offering higher quality of personal accommodation and furnishings and enhanced choices of recreational and communal spaces. A variety and choice in lifestyle, recreational and personal service which is responsive to the changing interest and needs of the residents.
SHEPPARTON MULTICULTURAL HOSTEL
23-Bed Low Care Facility
Shepparton Multicutural Hostel is an existing single-story Low Care Facility built in the early 1990s. It comprises of 5 houses joined together by glazed linkways. 23 additional beds are added in 2stages to provide a 53 bed facility. Alterations are also proposed including an extended dining room, new entry and new linkways to provide continuous circulation throughout the building and offer secure internal courtyard.
The building was completed in August 2006. Future extension of 14 beds and A.L.U development proposal is currently under schematic design stage.
MERCY PLACE COLAC
58-Bed Extension and Upgrade to Existing ACF
Colac
Set in the regional town of Colac, the 58 bed extension and upgrading of Mercy Colac Aged Care Facility will provide a more efficient model comprising of a new Dementia Wing and ESS wing. New billiard lounge, satellite living rooms and secured landscaped courtyards are integrated to give residents and their family a wide variety of social spaces. Carefully selected colour palettes for the furnishing and wall finishes together with a series of coffered skylights are proposed to solve the problem of dark interior of the exterior building.
LYNCH'S BRIDGE AGED CARE FACILITY
18-Bed Extension and Upgrade to Existing ACF

Lynch's Bridge Aged Care Facility is a 57 Bed Facility set in a residential neighbourhood of inner city Kensington.
The upgrade works include an 18 bed extension with a new dining room and resident's areas such as activities Room, sitting and snoezelen Room.
The secure courtyards provide a variety of paved and landscaped areas to residents with a high level of accessible open space.
HOLY ROSARY PRIMARY SCHOOL

Holy Rosary Primary School has commissioned PTA Architecture for the design of a new Multi Purpose Hall and associated amenities, and the development of integrated general purpose learning areas to service the school student population and local Community groups into the 21st Century, under the BER Capital program.
The proposal is to demolish the existing Hall and kitchenette space and to develop an integrated Multi Purpose Hall, with associated amenities, such as Before and After School Care and General Activity and Learning areas on 2 levels. This is designed in a structural form that maximises the tight existing site areas, and offers a clear visual point of address for the Foyer and Multi Purpose Hall directly to the public entry point at Gower Street.
This vastly improved the accessibility of the both the Multi Purpose hall and provided the School with significantly improved external formal and informal play areas.

MERCY SALTWATER CLINIC

The Saltwater Clinic is an existing facility that offers an array of mental health services for public patients in Melbourne's west and forms part of the Werribee Mental Health Program Scheme.
Located on the first floor of Footscray Plaza,the existing clinic was extremely tired and out of date, with an uninspiring interior environment which was no longer adequate for the growing demand of the services provided.
Through a thorough re-working of the facility floorplan, strategic use of colour and playful design features, the interior environment of this clinic has been transformed into a contemporary and vibrant environment for both the staff and their clients.

Renal Dialysis
RENAL DIALYSIS
The new Renal Dialysis Unit forms Stage 3 of ongoing extension works at Mercy Werribee Hospital due to the increasing demand for various health services in the South Western region of Melbourne. The proposed extension will allow an increase in the capacity of the existing unit from 6 to 16 patients per session. The new facility will provide State of the Art facilities in a comfortable and homely environment, better suited to patients and staff requirements. The new unit is also funded by the DHS and is completed in late 2011.
